Please find the following production update from Acting Executive Director Yoni Bokser at Governor’s Office of Motion Picture and Television Development
In preparation for Phase Four of the New York Forward regional phased reopening plan, New York State has released industry-specific guidance for Media Production during the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (“Interim COVID-19 Guidance for Media Production”). The precise timing of when regions will enter Phase Four has NOT yet been determined.
This industry specific guidance includes:
•Summary Guidance (https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/MediaProductionShortGuidance.pdf)
•Detailed guidance with an affirmation link (https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/MediaProduction_MasterGuidance.pdf)
•Business safety plan template (https://www.governor.ny.gov/sites/governor.ny.gov/files/atoms/files/NYS_BusinessReopeningSafetyPlanTemplate.pdf)
Each business or entity must develop a written Safety Plan outlining how its workplace will prevent the spread of COVID-19. A business may fill out the New York Forward Safety Plan template to fulfill the requirement or may develop its own Safety Plan. This plan does not need to be submitted to a state agency for approval but must be retained on the premises of the business and must made available to the New York State Department of Health (DOH) or local health or safety authorities in the event of an inspection.
Businesses are encouraged to look up their specific business functions and needs via the NY Forward Business Reopen Lookup Tool. This tool was designed to help businesses understand whether they can operate based on the nature of their business activity and the current status of the region(s) in which they operate. One can look up a NAICS code that most appropriately matches the specific activities in question via the federal searchable list here.
Please refer to the New York Forward website for all information, guidance and restrictions in order to operate legally and safely in each region. Please refer to the regional monitoring dashboards to check as regions may move between phases. Each of the phases on the website are continuously updated with guidelines and information on specific business activities.
